As a family run business we have been established for over 80 years.
You could say that building and construction is in our blood, we’ve been trading in the industry for the last 4 generations. The company has evolved and developed into Patrick Thomas Design & Build and is now being led by the next generation, Thomas.
We are absolutely passionate about what we do. Our heritage provides us with the knowledge, expertise and understanding for building solid construction. But we don’t just want solid, at Patrick Thomas Design & Build want it to look breath-taking with the ‘WOW’ factor too! Strikingly, beautiful design concepts are our raison d’être.
We are comfortable working on any type of property from a listed country house to a stylish modern new build and everything in between. We carry out works from the construction of a new build home to the renovation and extension of your existing home or a refit of the interior for a new kitchen or bathroom. We manage and deliver the entire project right down to the soft furnishings, using our in-house team of trades.
About Thomas
Thomas heads up the team at Patrick Thomas Design & Build and has been working within the building and landscape industries for over thirty years, he qualified in landscape and architectural design, while also being on site in holidays and weekends to enhance his site knowledge further.
Over the years he has built a reputation for his extreme eye for detail and quality, which in turn has built long standing relationships with returning clients.
He’s well known for his classic approach to building, which he learnt from his father and grandfather, but he draws off his eclectic knowledge of the building landscaping and interiors industries. He thinks outside the box to create a design and or to overcome a problem. He has an ability to find solutions and initiative ideas for challenges within the design process and the building of a project.
He likes to create a project that is unique, and his extensive experience allows him to make bold design statements. His in-depth knowledge allows him a complete understanding of the whole building process from ground through to interiors.
Thomas and his team of trades (the boys as they are referred to ) are reliable friendly and professional, they cover every aspect of the building industry, Thomas has creativity and a design flare to maximise the project and create an individual look for your project, his absolute attention to detail is hard to fine.
His joint joinery business with his brother and the team of craftsmen in the workshop produce bespoke everything for the project, kitchen, boot room, and fitted furniture for my project. Meetings are key to a project and Thomas insisted I had coffee at least once a week with him to discuss matters and what we as clients needed to chose for the coming week/weeks ahead so everything as ordered in time to keep the project on time and budget.
We have are forever home thanks to there hard work.

“Thomas of Patrick Thomas construction was employed along with his Company by our surveyor who we asked to manage the rebuild of my mothers house after is was destroyed by fire, from the. first pre-contact meeting, I took to Thomas calming attitude of nothing really phases him and everything is achievable.
He worked with my 80 year old mothers demands of her style, he would listen carefully and then manage to guide her to a more modern approach and layout and still give here the look she wanted and was use to. He helped her rebuild the love for her home after fire and she felt like the decades of memorys hadn’t been destroyed, my mother is a very formal lady but she felt very relaxed and at ease with Thomas.
He and the team completely rebuilt the house and remodelled to suit my mothers needs, the bespoke joinery they made was of the finest quality, and every finish and detail was exemplary, Thomas even waited at the house to open the door they day mother moved in just to make sure she was happy and comfortable, before he left the job.
I believe he still calls in for tea every now and then, as I hear My builder came for tea today.”
