More and more of us have been showing an interest in interior design having spent so much time in our own properties so far in 2020.

An article for Our Culture Mag recently highlighted some of the top interior design trends we can expect to see as we move into the second half of 2020.

Bright colours are expected to become more popular in our home decor, according to the publication, because of their ability to boost our mood. You don’t have to go crazy and paint all of your walls in vibrant colours though. You could embrace this trend by introducing vivid home accessories instead.

Another trend to watch is that for biophilia, which means bringing nature into your home. Given that we weren’t allowed out for weeks on end, it’s little surprise that people are keen to have more plants and greenery in their homes, especially if they don’t have any private outdoor space.

You could introduce more nature to your home in the form of pot plants, natural colours on your walls or in your furniture, or even in the artwork that you hang on your walls.

The Independent recently pointed out that the Covid-19 pandemic is likely to have an impact on how we design the layout of our homes too. Having more flexible spaces that can be adapted for work, homeschooling or socialising will become more important in the future.

Having at-home bars, cosy seating areas and spaces that can be used for entertaining a limited number of guests are other interior trends that are on the up, the newspaper noted.
